Other historic places of interest include the ruins of Blackness Castle (7 miles) from where a nature trail runs along the seaward edge of woodlands to one of the loveliest 18th century houses in Scotland Hopetoun House its museum and park; in the same small area visitors will discover the little 17th century fairytale castle The Binns (NTS). Beecraigs Country Park is 5 miles. Edinburgh is a 25 mile drive or by train (every 15 minutes) from Linlithgow. Sports centre swimming pool riding 3 miles. Golf 1½ miles.
